Trump to Eliminate Obama’s Military Gear Ban for Local Police
On 8/29/2017, the Trump administration will roll back limits on an Obama program that provided local law enforcement agencies with surplus military gear. The executive order, in place since 2015, prohibited armored vehicles, grenade launchers, high-caliber weapons and camouflage uniforms from being provided to local law enforcement agencies.
